World Cup 2014: Getting Closer to My Quadrennial Geek Out

As most of my friends know, I am a big, big soccer fan. Nearly four years ago, I sat in my office, trying to work, while the United States Men’s National Team played their final group stage game against Algeria in the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. The U.S. needed a win to advance. The score was 0-0 in the 90th minute, then this happened:

 

 

To say my co-workers were wondering what happened when I let out a shriek of joy is an understatement. The attorneys in the offices next to me thought I might have injured myself only to see my dancing around when they came into my office.

 

Well, we are just over one month from the opening of the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil. To say I can’t wait is insufficient. My geek out is nearly upon us.
