A Message from our New Client Services Manager

A Message from our New Client Services Manager

I am delighted to join the team at the Law Offices of Matthew S. Johnston! As the Client Services Manager, you can expect to hear from me to help Matt coordinate your legal needs, pending actions, and progress of your case. Aside from our time communicating, I’ll be working on the firm’s writing, marketing, and research needs, and make sure that you as a client get everything you need.

Since joining the team in April of 2018, I have surely learned a lot. It has been a great experience to learn about the world of small business owners and how they jump into many different worlds as they open and maintain their businesses. I am honored to be part of a legal team where Matt builds solid relationships with each client, taking the time to fully understand their business and situation, and take course accordingly.

I am a Frederick, Maryland native, and will be working remotely while I live in Cuenca, Ecuador. Though we won’t be meeting face-to-face, I am available behind the scenes (on the Eastern time zone) via email and Skype to address anything you need.

My passion for social justice and human rights led me to live and work in Ecuador where I serve as the Program Director at the Hearts of Gold Foundation. Here I co-designed and manage the only capacity building program for nonprofit leaders in Ecuador, uniting 40+ nonprofit leaders and impacting over 5,000 lives. Prior to my travels abroad, I worked as a Victim Advocate at the Heartly House, and you may have seen me making your latte at the wee hours of the morning at Frederick Coffee Company while I was working on my Masters.

While not working with nonprofit leaders or doing the behind-the-scenes work of your legal needs, I can be found traveling (more often than not their Royal Enfield motorcycle), running, learning for fun, blogging, or exploring the outdoors. I’d say that coffee, music, and positivity are the perfect combo.

I am a 2015 magna cum laude graduate from American University’s School of International Service where I received my Masters of Arts in International Peace and Conflict Resolution with a focus in Latin America, and a 2012 summa cum laude graduate from Towson University with a double major in Cultural Anthropology and International Studies with a minor in Spanish.

I look forward to getting to know each client and being able to support you in your journey as a small business owner.
