25 Jun Can You Fire Employees for Racist Comments on Social Media?
Yes. Next question.
If an employee posts on their personal social media statements that contain racial slurs, calls for discrimination, calls for violence, or other comments that can put an employer into disrepute, that employee can be fired.
But, be sure to carefully document your actions and check with counsel BEFORE you terminate employment.
If you have questions, please contact us or other qualified counsel.
If you want to talk through some of those ideas, let’s schedule a time to chat. If you want to schedule a 15 minute call with me, go to my online scheduler (Note: For those of you who are not clients, the call will include a $50 fee.
